Fellowship is an integral part of who we are and what we do at 1st Presbyterian Church of Harborcreek. Our Fellowship involves sharing with each other on areas of common interests, feelings, beliefs, activities, concerns, experiences, goals, and responsibilities, as well as working together on a variety of initiatives.
Fellowship at our church also involves getting together for spiritual purposes: for sharing needs, for prayer, and for discussing and sharing the Word to provide encouragement and comfort.
Areas of Fellowship include:
Monthly Luncheon and Fellowship – this popular event takes place on the 4th Tuesday of each month at noon. We share a prepared luncheon and are entertained and enlightened by guest speakers on a wide variety of topics of interest. (Currently, this activity is on-hold due to pandemic. We are excited to resume when gathering is safer)
Swiss Steak Dinners – For more than 40 years, this well-attended annual fund-raising activity held every autumn utilizes the talents of many members of all ages working together. Because the annual fall Swiss Steak dinner has been so successful as well as offering great fellowship opportunities, a second Swiss Steak dinner was recently added and is offered in the spring. Great food, friendships, and the fellowship developed through working together make these events popular for all who participate! Most of the proceeds benefit our mission projects.
Annual Garage Sale – This activity, held each year, for over 25 years, during June also involves a large number of members joining together to offer far more than just a “garage sale.” This event also includes a bake sale; the ever-popular “Chinese auction”, and of course, food, snacks, and drinks.
Part of the fellowship which binds us together is working together on a common cause or project to benefit the church and our missions.
Coffee and Cookies – Several times a year, members and guests are invited to join in for some coffee, cookies, and fellowship following worship services. This provides an excellent opportunity for discussion of what we heard in the service, or just to spend some quality time with those who worship with us.
Brunch and a Movie – Adult members and guests are invited to participate in the Christian fellowship provided in this Sunday school group each Sunday. In addition to the Christian fellowship provided in this gathering on Sunday mornings, we offer social fellowship opportunities in activities such as Progressive Dinners, Family Nights, etc.
…We continue Christ’s ministry in the world by nurturing the faith of persons of all ages through worship, warm fellowship and Christian Education…
